Lyrika Holmes, is an internationally known contemporary harpist and vocalist, celebrated for her innovative fusion of R&B and hip-hop with contemporary music, making her a standout figure in the music industry.
Originating from St. Louis, Missouri, her multifaceted career spans roles as a professional harpist, singer, songwriter, composer, actress, and dedicated educator. As the founder of the groundbreaking nonprofit arts school “Artz for the Harp,” she has demonstrated a deep commitment to advancing musical arts.Lyrika's unique musical style, blending classical harp with genres like R&B, jazz, and pop, has garnered international acclaim. She has performed in over 600 prestigious events worldwide, from the "Beloved Benefit" to "Wine with the Wades", showcasing her versatility and appeal. Lyrika Holmes' international prestige soared as she took on the role of Soul Singer in Cirque Du Soleil's "Kooza," touring across Asia and establishing herself as a trailblazer in the music industry.
Her influence extends beyond the stage to the media, where she has been featured on the cover of "Georgia Trend" magazine and in esteemed publications like Essence, The Atlantan, Modern Luxury Magazine and the AJC to name a few. Lyrika's acting career, highlighted by roles in productions that address social issues, further showcases her diverse talents.
In education, Lyrika's achievements are remarkable. She holds 3 degrees in Music Education with teaching certification and has over two decades of teaching experience. She initiated the first harp program in the state of Tennessee and continued her advocacy for music education in Georgia. Her nonprofit, “Artz for the Harp,” is dedicated to providing music education and therapy in underprivileged communities.The creation of The Contemporary Harp Method Books reflects Lyrika's innovative approach to teaching, incorporating various music genres. Her significant contributions to the arts have earned her accolades such as the 2021 Georgia Governor's Awards in Arts & Humanities and a sponsorship from Harpsicle Harps. Lyrika is also 1 of the 5 recipients for the CNP (Certified Nonprofit Credential) grant for 2024, which is the only nonprofit certification in the country. This intensive program will equip Lyrika and AFTH with the necessary tools to continue thriving as a Georgia based arts nonprofit. To date, Lyrika and her team have raised over half a million in grants and contracts for AFTH to provide services in underserved communities throughout Georgia and the southeast.
